Objective: to apply problem-solving ability and creativity to visual media design solutions for clients. This is a career change from a previous profession as a research scientist in microbiology and geology, I have devoted the past 5 years to acquire the education and software skills I need to make this change.

-Fine Art works on paper using watercolor and acrylics.
-Graphic Design work, freelance: brochures, cosmetic labels, digital images with words, digital collage using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Digital Photography.
Newspaper Assistant, Casa Magazine, Santa Barbara, CA., temporary part-time, 2005. -Entered advertising data using Quark; proofread final copies.

Teaching Assistant
Drawing (2 quarters), Arts Division, University of California, Santa Cruz, 2007- 2008; presented drawing lessons in classroom; helped students with drawing; wrote detailed evaluations of student work.
Digital Art (1 quarter), Arts Division, University of California, Santa Cruz, 2007: taught students Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash.
History of Art and Visual Culture (3 quarters), University of California, Santa Cruz, 2006-2008, teaching discussion sections and grading student papers and exams for classes in the Visual Culture of Africa and the Americas.
